Tuesday we got home from our 8 day Exotic Mexican Cruise. I don't have the photos off the cameras yet. Yesterday I was seasick because the ground is still moving as if we on the ship. We went out for lunch and riding in the car re-activated it or something, so it got worse.
It was a wonderful cruise that we 'won' from the Venetian casino in Las Vegas probably as a result of a certain party in this household winning and losing several thousand dollars there in 2007.
We started out with a two-night stay at the Venetian. There was a Bon Voyage party where they gave each couple a huge duffle bag containing Venetian baseball caps, two big bottles of sun screen, a big bottle of aloe sunburn remedy, two silk (mens) shirts - dark blue with The Venetian embroidered on the sleeve, two big towels with the Venetian logo. They served a really nice buffet dinner at this party, and we had a chance to look over our fellow gambling cruisers with whom we never bonded, by the way.
Then, there was a free day - so people could catch up on their gambling. Most of the cruise participants were from out of town. We spent it at home, repacking so we could bring some of the stuff they gave us, but not all.
On departure day, bellmen came and got our luggage at 6:30 am, and we would not see it again until on board the ship. It's always fun figuring out what clothes to keep that will have to be pawed through by TSA in a carry on, as well as observing the 3 ounce bottles in a single 1 quart ziploc bag rule. The hotel paid for TSA personnel to come to the hotel and do the screening there because we were on a charter flight and would not go through the airport terminal. This was very slow because they didn't have x-ray, so had to search all our bags and wand everyone.
We were on the first bus load to go to the airport, so were able to get free drinks and snacks while we waited for everyone else. It is only a 1 hour flight from Las Vegas to San Diego so some people barely got their one free drink, and we had a couple. The airline was Allegiant, which flies schedules out of small airports like Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado, my home town direct to Las Vegas, and they do these charters. One great thing about them is there is a lot of legroom in the seats, which you don't see much of any more.

Reading your cruise stuff out of order ... too bad you couldn't meet some people you liked but it's always a crap shoot (what am I saying). Did Mr. Troutbend enjoy himself or did the gamblinb results sour his mood? Hang in there, sweet Laura. xx, T.
Nothing sours his mood, he's always sweet and happy. Seriously.
That was one thing I liked about Air Mexicana--lots of leg room and actual meals.
I am reading out of order too. What heaven not to have to handle your luggage.
What a joy to be with a sweet and happy man. :)
